of trips to Maidenhead & Richmond and a little boating exercise.  Saw a few excellent theatres, a cricket match, Australia v one of the Counties, and generally filled in the time happily.  Then I went up to Chester to see that friend of mine, Bert Burke, whom you may remember by his red hair, and his extremely high opinion of me.  He was staying at Eaton Hall, the residence of Duke of Westminster.  I went all over that splendid house and its fine grounds, which priviledge was worth going a long way to take advantage of.  Then Burke & I wandered all over the ancient City of Chester, saw
