Mater dear
You see a few days have elapsed since I wrote above. Sorry, but I'll try and finish this time.
Have just recd your letter of 20/9/17 and am really glad to hear you have made such a splendid recovery. I had no idea until the last mail that your illness was so serious - in fact by letters I received before that it seemed you were just slightly off colour. However, Its great to read that you are now almost your dear self again. I heartily trust that ere this screed reaches you you will have fully regained all your cheeriness happiness & health. If you get ill I'll have to go over and see you and you would not like me to leave my job under present circumstances would you?
