I received a splendid little note & card from Mrs James Davies yesterday which I appreciate a lot.
It is very sad to continually read your references to Syd's pal Lindsay now that that unfortunate lad has gone under.
Thanks so much dear for your cheery wishes for my birthday. Im sorry that I shall have to spend this, my fourth one, so far away from home. I shall spend this one in London. Just notice the different countries I've spent my birthday in for the last few years - 1917 England, 1916 France, 1915 Malta, 1914 Egypt, 1913 N.S.W., 1912 Victoria - I cant remember further back than that. Let's hope 1918 will be Victoria.
