he must be quite alright though I cant help worrying a bit. Truly it is a rotten place to be in for a lad of his age 18 to receive his baptimism of fire under & the suspense & anxiety I've suffered on his account has been more than unpleasant. I shall certainly get him into the Brigade so that I can keep in touch with him right away because I couldnt stand too much of this sort of thing. I hope to be in a position in a couple of days to scout around & find him & then I shall have a lot to tell you.
Russia seems quite a washout now eh? as fas as a concrete help towards victory is concerned. I remember you predicting, when the revolution there first started, that it would be probably a few years before the Nation shook herself together
