a weeks jollification. The one of Syd would have been improved had his pipe been eliminated from the picture. No doubt he has not learnt as yet that its not quite the thing to have a pipe in one's mouth when in uniform in public! The other two of Syd - one holding Valerie, the other holding Possum, - I like very much though they are spoilt by the fact that he is not properly dressed. The fact of a gunner wearing his coat open to show a collar & tie which he should not be wearing is just plain swank - a thing which the fellows out here are very down on the Pay Office &c people in London for. It is not the correct dress so why wear it. I incurred Fred's displeasure recently by similar remarks. The one of Bob at the typewriter is good though his hair needs a brush, does it not?
