line that my borther Syd's unit was camped 200 yards from the Battery wagon line.  Unfortunately I was in command of the Battery at the time - Major Jopp having been returned to Australia broken up and Capt Leschen wounded - so I was not able to go down to see Sid.  However next day I went along to see Colonel Cohen who was in command of the Brigade at the time & I explained the matter to him & so got a couple of hour's leave.  I was only able to spend an hour with Syd as his unit was going into the line that evening but that one hour was fine.  I was very much impressed with him.  He has filled out into a splendid young fellow & his training has apparently done him far more good than harm.  Truly Im proud of that
