Also I think I told you before that he is a relative of our Major General Chauvel who has just been decorated with the K.C.M.G. and that the Major has been awarded the D.S.O.  I spent a couple of cheery days as the guest of Mrs Jopp who took me for some lovely motor drives through the famously beautiful country of Surrey & Sussex, probably as pretty as any in England.  I was invited to go to a shoot on a neighbouring estate but I preferred driving.  I was also given permission to use a splendid Arab horse but I had really struck a bad time just then for hunting or anything of that sort.  When I returned to the City I looked up some pals of mine who were over on leave with me - Major Harold Riggall, Lt. Jim Staley & Capt Maynard Wilkinson - and with these cheery pals I put in most of the remainder of
