Herb Morris, the Brigadier Major & the Staff Captain, quite a cheery party.  As I was about to go on leave I came in for most of the conversation and not a little of the chaff.  Everyone was most anxious to impress me with what not to do & what to do.  Advice on my behalf and suggestions were overwhelming.  However we had a ripping lunch and I look on the whole affair as quite an event in my humble career.

You know it isn't general for me to be hobnobbing with Staff people & Generals.  After lunch the Brig. wrote a note to his old crony of Lloyds' for me to take and
