just hereabouts is where that row should start - a big row of more good "Zambucks" firing guns - It's the only way.
You refer to "specimens of fair handwriting of lady correspondents of mine", specimens of which I enclosed in a letter and you suggest that they require some explanations. I cant remember what postcards they were but am confident that they require no explanation else Im sure I should not have sent them. The letters of that kind I always destroy!
I am glad you accept my apology for my letters at times being infrequent. Thanks for the remark that you think I have done wonders in this respect. I certainly do try and scribble a line when opportunity occurs. The fact of any letters being mostly addressed to the Mater is merely that I cannot write two letters where I am able at times to write one so of course I write that one to the Mater and put all the news I may have in it. Under those circs it would be superfluous & ridiculous to write 2 letters where the one suffices, would it not?
