Say, I was rather tickled to read your extract of Bob's letter describing his employer as "a typical Scotchman with the combined qualities of Messrs W.G. Smith, R.J. Alcock & H. Kennedy & the Pater".  Surely it cannot be, then, that Mr McDonald is a typical Scotchman.  You're not over much like a Scotchman because you are too thin to wear kilts & you are so averse to golf & Scotch & soda.  But I am glad to note that Bob adds an addendum that his employer "is, in addition, a sound Christian man".

I'm glad to read that the question of Ida living at your place has not been abandoned.  But surely the present existing circumstances between she and her sister, whatever they are, could easily be overridden.  I only wish I were able to slip over there of a day or two.  Guess I'd
