Things go on in the same old way - we bang off death-pills morning, noon & night and Fritz in turn passes over ironmongery in wholesale consignments but it doesn't seem to alter the aspect of the war to any marked degree.  In fact I'm beginning to wonder if we are going to be issued with spectacles, hair restorer &c in a couple of years or will we have to buy same privately.

I'm glad to say things are a wee bit more tolerable - or less miserable - than last time of writing.  For a start our day now isn't just a roar of artillery or a continual shiver of fear now - whether it is that we have become used to the
