memory badly affected or is it just that at times she forgets things.  Of course I can clearly see in her letters marked evidence of mind trouble.  In fact I might say that in some of her letters there are remarks almost childish in their simplicity.

I do trust that if you find your hands tied a bit for want of extra funds say to send her away for a rest cure or to purchase a car or anything at all you will call on my wee balance.  I'd be very sorry to know that a few pounds of mine might have helped towards recovery and it was left unused.  Please look at this suggestion from my point of view, will you Pater?

Regarding quitting the house that you mention.  This of course would be only advisable if the Mater
