is rendered very beautiful by an avenue of dense oak trees. We were landed in the centre of the city but a walk of 10 minutes of so brought us to the fine pier & beaches. We strolled along the fine new promenade to the Boscombe Pier & back again & made several walks round the pier itself. The admission to pier is 2d but for us 1d. Bournemouth is a place of about 80,000 inhabitants, & takes premier place among the more select watering-places of Great Britain. There is a truly amazing number of very large private hotels there capable of accommodating a great number of holiday makers. The beach is only narrow,
