Everyone will remember "The Spreading of Chestnut Tree" of Longfellows "Village Blacksmith". Well George & I walked over about 2 or 3 miles to see the Tree or rather the supposed Tree for the site is disputed & very doubtful. Anyhow we saw a chestnut tree also the pretty village of Fighledean[?] with its old churchyard, while further on stood an aerodome of the Royal Flying Corps. From our position on the hill by the church we could see probably a dozen aeroplanes flying about, some high, some low, some far away & some very close. It was very interesting to observe
