leave disappointed. The house is now occupied by the Prime Minister of the Union - General Botha. Yet Rhodes own room is kept unused and exactly as he is supposed to have left it. The residence is very beautiful & we were glad we had made the visit. On the way back we saw the Rhodes memorial on the slope of Devil's Peak. We went out by train but on returning were invited to share a taxi which we gladly did, arriving in town in time for another look round, when we proceeded to the wharf & embarked; and a very pleasant day was nearly over.
