Gardens cannot be compared with the present Sydney Zoo, which I prefer in almost every respect. After returning to the hotel for dinner & my few belongings I took the underground train to the Embankment & gained admission (free) to see the new German mine laying submarine U.C.5 recently captured. By this time it was almost 9 pm & I crossed Westminster Bridge once more to Waterloo Station & was soon back in camp in a taxi from Amesbury Station about 2.30 am after four days seeming like four weeks by reason of the amount I had seen and learnt. London is a big city, but
