our admiration. We wandered over lovely extensive lawns planted with beautiful trees, planted in many cases by the earls themselves in commemoration of certain events. Through the park ran a tributary of our Avon & boating & punting was one of the orders of the fĂȘte. Unfortunately we were unable to secure a boat, but enjoyed ourselves at tennis, bowls, & target-shooting. There were also many side shows to interest one. We enjoyed our game of bowls very much. After tea we returned to the Soldiers Free & Easy at Salisbury & spent the evening there till returning to camp by car again before "Lights out".
