made my way through the Mall under the Admiralty Arch to St James Park where a rather amusing incident occurred. Noting the great number of poor children playing about on the grass, I prepared to take a snap, but the children immediately sighting the camera ranged themselves in a row to be taken. This done, they rushed up to me for the photo. Poor kids, I suppose that was all they knew about photographs, and they were very disappointed when I explained they would not be ready for some time.
