narrow but ness of the streets altho apparently well laid out. The market-place with its long row of stalls attracted our attention. But of course the great feature of Salisbury is its very beautiful cathedral. We visited it and were delighted with its beautiful exterior & lofty spire towering over the glorious green square in which the cathedral is placed. The interior of the cathedral is very imposing indeed. In the chancels one may inspect memorials & memorial tablets to many of Englands noted distinguished soldiers & sailors.
