the dome. Around the inside of the foot of the dome is the Whispering Gallery where a person whispering on one side of the dome can be heard very loudly on the opposite side about (say) 50 yards away. From St Paul's my sightseeing took me to the National Gallery at Trafalgar Square, where the monument to Nelson stands sheer into the sky from the centre of the square. Although the most valuable pictures are have been removed from the walls for safety I was able to see many beautiful pictures by old masters. There were a large number of students copying the masterpieces. From Trafalgar Square I
