following their admirable custom had provided hot tea & buns for our troops. Our journey recommenced the country gradually opened out till at last just after leaving Salisbury with its beautiful cathedral we turned off on a branch line for about six miles to Amesbury, where we detrained. Having piled our kit bags onto waiting motor lorries we marching past the village of Amesbury, past many quaint old houses (one dated 1706) surrounded by beautiful trees, then thro' the whole length of Canada Lines to Lark Hill to Camp 17 which we now occupy.
