31/10/16 On this date I commenced duty with the 9th Field Ambulance. I am posted to C Section but sleep in one of A Section's huts. All the men are very good fellows, particularly A Sect & I was given a hearty reception. Many of the men I had met at Liverpool & many on the "Argyllshire". Our daily work is not hard as the ambulance is classed as efficient.
3/11/16 On this long wished for day I proceeded on my long waited for 4 days leave.
