The colour question which so obtruded itself on our notice in Durban, here presented an entirely different aspect. Here in Capetown one notices a predominance of olive coloured people called Cape men and women. They are the descendants of the early settlers and the local native races all mixed. In no way do they pay any deference to the white man. These people manage to hold there own, but not so the pure native races who are represented, for the Europeans still look down upon these as inferior although not in so marked a degree
