This is a fine place with lovely gardens & fields to the extent of 700 acres & there are lakes & boats & some of the lakes have huge Australian swans & we give them all kinds of tit bits & they know us now & when they see us coming along they poke their long necks asking for something to eat.

I have seen the account of our landing in the Sydney papers but there isn't a quarter of the losses reported as there were 3000 killed the first two days & 6000 wounded & I was told that we were not allowed to send any papers but you will get some as I'm going down to some of the docks & get someone on board to deliver them.

I haven't yet got the full power of this blessed arm & still get it massaged & hope it won't
