until 10 oclock tomorrow, but we are thinking there must be something which will keep us two hours late, as its not often the old fellow gives us concessions like this, so we are going on at the usual time.

They have cut us down in food again - two slices a day we used to get but now 1½ slices, & meat well ten ounces a day, jam every second night, tea once a day at breakfast time, hot stuff aren't they, but I suppose something has to be done as so many ships are going down.

I got a letter from an old cobber of mine in France & he says the grub is good & plenty of it. 

Well I shall have to close as there's nothing startling to relate.
