& then fists flew in all directions & was soon on top, so far none of our N.S.W. men have lost a fight. I think we soon will be on our way as we are to have a march through Melbourne on Thursday & there are rumours floating around to the effect that we go about the 14th or three or four days before Christmas. All the troopships are nearly ready & they have been taking stores & meat aboard ever since we have been here & I think we'll have either the Cersic or Ceramic but will be able to tell you before boarding. We are getting pretty easy work now as the officer in charge of the 2nd Epedty. [Expeditionary] force got on to our colonel at the way he has been working us & told him he must think we were bullocks & that we didnt get enough recreation, we don't either as very few have had leave on "dinkum" passes but all of us have been out pretty well every night without passes,get back safely, so we call our tent the "Out Withouts" (passes). 7/12/14
