leave as I reckon my "iron" is going to waste, but I will have all the more to draw when I do get out, & then for a gay time, I don't see why I shouldn't have it as I mightn't get another chance. There was great excitement here last night late.
There were a few of us still awake & we heard a buzzing noise, & woke the others up & all went out into the garden & we saw a German Zepplin pass right over us & expected any moment to see it drop a few "visiting" cards but none came & after we turned in again we heard plenty of shots which I suppose were the military guards, & in the morning we got up early & rushed the papers but they gave us no news of this monster, but I suppose there will be something doing in tonight's paper.
One of our men was spending his leave at Hull when they made a raid there & there were over two hundred killed & wounded but it was kept out of the press as only very few deaths were reported
