Private R Nixon
C/o Victoria League,
No 16, Victoria Street, S.W.

Dear Sir

I am inform by Captain M.C. Southey of Harefield Hospital that you may have known my brother Private Jess Shaw, No 89, 13 Batallion who was stated to have died of wounds.  I should be glad to know if you knew him personally and if you can give me any information about him and where he died.  I have heard from Lt Marks from Egypt that my brother was seriously wounded, but my letter to him was the first intimation they had had of his death.

Trusting to hear from you and hoping you have now recovered from the terrible experiences you must have suffered.

Yours faithfully,
Mrs W Relph
