here voted NO on the conscription issue & I'm sure all in Australia would not have been so ready to vote yes, anyhow I am glad I said NO.  As soon as a new crowd arrive here all the crowd of the older men say what --- faves you are, you want your brains brushed.

Things are terribly dear here and people dont know what war is.

Well I am going to stop now as I have such a pain in my shoulders that I can't do any more for the present.  I have had only two letters from home - from dad - I suppose they are somewhere on the way the ones you have sent.

Give my love to all & tell them I'm still smiling.
