I had a letter from Rod & I laughed for nearly a week at it, & even now I often drag it out & read it.

I have written the both of them and am expecting a reply next week.

I was on this next draught but was too ill to tackle it so I have been scratched off & since I went & saw Jack Henry my dear old pal & I [he] didn't know me as I have fallen off such a lot.

This will give you some idea - my correct weight is 12-6 but now I just go 10-7 with my overcoat on over my uniform.  Well I spent three days in Birmingham & the other I went to London & saw Jack & he has charge of the kit store & he is going to get me up there, until I pull together.
