we got up a picnic & had to row across a sort of tiny little bay & it was not more than two hundred yds. across.  We had to make three journeys to get over for it was a party of twenty four.  On the way back several trips were made & there were five of us waiting for someone to bring the boat back, well it came & was brought over by a little chap aged eleven & when he got close to the beach & his mother saw who it was she nearly went mad & tried to make out he had never been in a boat before by himself, but she was wrong as this little beggar pl pulled too well for his first trip.

Well we had a good stay at Eastbourne & got back in time for dinner on Wednesday & in the evening went to our concert which was a huge success & the star turn was the war cry & dance by the Moaris.  The affair was such a good turn out that it is to be repeated next week
