the best they had tasted since the War. Our Xmas puddings were also very nice. On Aug 1st I had my stitches taken out eleven in number & I felt relieved & glad the operation was over & successful.
Aug 5th still in bed & getting tired of it during the hot days of August. I got out of bed on the 15 day after the operation but was glad to get back again as my head started to go round. I soon got over that and on Aug 10th I was allowed out for a few hours I promptly went home to tea
Sunday Aug 11th I took my sisters to Richmond where we had a good view of the river Thames where there were many boats having a row round an island in the river. Monday Aug 12th had another river excursion to Kew Gardens, & enjoyed being out in the lovely sunshine again.
