boys had great fun with the niggers who were loading baskets of coal from trucks. The scramble for pennies & food was real fun. We also had plenty of fishing here, the Y.M.C.A. would buy fruit for the men & any presents the men wished to take back home with them were got by the Red Cross people & Y.M.C.A. & sent aboard. We had our own concert party going strong now so we did not have such a bad time in spite of the fact we did not get ashore.
We left Cape Town on Nov 25th & struck heavy weather which lasted six days. After that it was fine but cold, but it got warmer as we got nearer to Aussie. Whist drives were held also chess & draughts tournments
