as the best band in the British forces in France certainly it was the best I have heard over there. Scotty & I visited the fruit gardens near Amiens we had no business there except to get a fill up of fruit backsheester for nothing. We sometimes came home filled up with raspberries & strawberries our stomachs like little footballs its very seldom we had much fruit so we made up for lost time the flowers were lovely & had beautiful perfumes, so one often brought some home to put in ones bedroom generally a stable.
I am sorry to say that again my complaint was troubling me so I reported sick on July 16th. I was sent straight away for an operation I arrived at No 30 C.C.S. same day & was made a stretcher case although I was quite able to walk. I felt sorry to leave the Unit again.
