will forgive my awful writing and mistakes. I think that the average soldier wil sum up his career with the words THANKS. We have to thank God for bringing us safely through this awful war. We have to thank the Navy for escorting us over the seas and protecting us from the U Boats. We have to thank the Red Cross, the War Chest Funds, the Comforts Funds, the various church institutions Y.M.C.A. & Salvation Army for their good work.
We have to thank the woman, girls & even schoolboys for knitting socks mufflers caps scarfs & etc for us.
And we have to thank the people of Australia for the great Welcome Home they gave us. I will close this diary
