a few engins were standing along the platform & the boys stood alongside the boilers for warmth & we were still waiting for the train at 6 AM. When we lit a big fire & made ourselves warm the Y.M.C.A. was still open but we were not allowed off the station & one did not want to miss the train which had left Albert only 28 kilos away hours ago. Standing around a smoky fire we soon got dirty still we were warm, at 8 PM the train was not to be seen and at 8-35 I went to the Buffet for breakfast. I had no sooner got my lovely rolls & coffee when my mates came shouting for me that the train was at last in so I bolted the Hot Coffee nearly burned myself & only just caught the train still I was glad to be able to say we were at last
