my well earned leave & after waiting for over an hour we did not get aboard so all that went for nothing so I just swore & to think that my souvenirs were gone. Still we went into a camp in Boulogne & had a nice tea, a good sleep in warm rooms & next day we were put on the boat & left Boulogne about 12.30 & arrived Folkstone about 2 pm when we left on a train for  London & arrived there at 4.30. We marched to Horseferry Road, got clean clothes & a bath & got clear at 7 pm one days leave wasted for nothing.

Went home to my sisters place & left for Brighton Dec 24th & had Xmas at home, a lovely turkey which cost   £2.50 so one can guess the price of food in England at this time. I could write a
