Amiens & Albert Road at a place called Petit Camnon. Here we spent another quiet time, Mr Hughes & Sir J. Cook visited the Aussies in this district I only saw their cars pass by. Also Sir John Monash paid us a visit of inspection here again we had plenty of sports & got leave to various towns. on July 5 Scotty & I visited Ailly Sua Somme & saw some old friends & spent a pleasant day the Yanks were with us & assisted us in the battle of Hammel we were daily expecting a big push in this  Sector & almost everyone was confident of success.  

We used to play the Yanks at baseball & were often beaten still they were great sports & gave us a bumping concert which was first class. Their band was also good but not up to the standard of the A.I.F. bands. The eight brigade band which  is spoken of
