also my new dog the image of the late Jack so we named him Jack. I left No 30 C.C.S. 17/7/18 to go on board the Hospital train & we left for Rouen 12 pm & we arrived at Rouen 6.30 am July 18 & was admitted to No 5 General Hospital No 4 Ward. July 19 left Rouen by hospital train to go to Blighty, were we happy? rather. I went aboard the transport St David & left Le Harve the same evening & arrived Southampton 8 am July 20th after a smooth journey. We berthed near the giant liner Olympic which had just arrived from U.S.A. with ten thousand troops on board they gave us a great cheer & waved to us as we went by in the train to London. We arrived at Paddington Station on the Ambulance train No 11 at 2.30. We were met by a crowd of ambulance workers who gave us tea & cakes also flowers, & the tender way they handled the poor
