a fine lunch. Such a feed it did ones eyes good to see such good food & yet many of the boys thought of England & France & the shortage of food there. The cheer up huts were also very good to the boys, so we had a beautiful tea there also boxes of fruit to take back on board with us picture shows were thrown open to us free of charge.
The last train was a special for the boys & what a scene many were the worse for drink & were wheeled to the train in the station trucks everybody was happy & piled up with fruit & stuff. Hundreds were there to see us off & the big drum of the local band added to the send off we got from the folks on the station. It was a day of days. Next day the V.A.D.s gave us lunch on board after
