The journey is over 48 kilos we went by car to Albert then to Amiens by train coming back we went by train to Albert & then I had the luck to get a horse & arrived home at 1 pm. Some of the boys had to walk most of the way, as I had not been on a horse's back since Egypt & then to do about 14 miles I felt very sore for days afterwards.
We had a quiet time here but a very pleasant one, the Tommy concert party called the Curios are simply great, & the boys enjoy the shows very much in spite of the heat. Fritz still puts over a shell now & then to let us know he is still there.
On June 16th we left Bapaume by train, passed through Achit-le-France & arrived at Vapremnes. Marched to Senlis near Albert & took over a rest station. As we
