We had an uneventful voyage until after the Armistice was signed when a party of troops broke into the ships beer store & stole   £50 worth of beer & whisky with the result we all had to pay towards the cost - my share was one shilling and a penny. We had a fine crowd on board, but as we were in the danger zone we had a quiet life on board. Two men died one was a munitions worker & the other a soldier. Both were commited to the deep, the vessel not stopping her engines as we were still in the danger zone. Another soldier died about two days sail from Cape Town
