tea out in the cold for the rest of the unit on their way from Kemmel by train. This was at 6 pm & the boys did not arrive till 5 am next day. Scotty & I took it in turns to lie down for a few hours sleep in a cold stable. The man who reckons a cooks job a good one in my estimation does not know what he is talking about.
When we had a look arround this village it confirmed my first opinion it was a rotton hole. the best building was the Church. The me were billeted all over the place moreover the place was covered with snow. but like everything else one gets used to the place & it was not too bad after we had been there some time.
