trouble, but its good the way our men seem to stick.

On Monday our sergeants invited a lot of the Dorset sergeants up to a sort of tea & gave them a real good time, plenty to eat & even sent a dray to bring them to & from their camp & some of these visitors got several shocks when they got here.

When some of them left the dray they forget to take their canes & almost ordered some of our men to go & fetch them & they opened their eyes when they were told off with strong language.  It seems a silly thing but a man with one stripe isn't allowed to walk out or have a drink with a private & a sergeant not allowed to get about with a coporal [corporal], it doesn't matter if it was his brother, it wouldn't suit our crowd & the other night there was two of our privates strolling along with one of our Sergeants & two Tommie officers were walking & one said to the other doesn't that look
