The nurse here are very good & nothings is any trouble, they are mostly Scotch girls but speak better English than what the people in London do & the head sister is one of the best & she sent to Edinburgh for her music & gramaphone & our ward is quite jolly for in her spare time she plays & sings beautifully. The matron is a sour old fowl & none of the men or the sisters have seen her smile. She looks like a suffragette & one chap said she looked like a vinegar bottle but we had some good fun yesterday. There were a lot of us on a balcony & we saw her walking through the grounds and one of the "Jocks" (Scotchmen) got a pair of glasses & was looking at her & when she saw us she stepped quickly in a building which is being built as a cookhouse, & she sank into some mortar up to her knees, she thought it was solid, & we had a good laugh.
Don't send any letters to England just send as same as usual.
