On Aug 1st I celebrated my 26th birthday it is the first wet birthday I have known so I cannot say I spent pleasant day & the evening was foolishly spent. So I repented next day with a bad head.
Aug 2nd I visited the town of Aire with Scotty for a few hours had a good tea in there & enjoyed our walk very much.
Aug 4th I visited St Omer rather a nice little town but not a patch on Amiens, but after a time we got to enjoy ourselves. There are many hospitals YMCA & all kinds of huts here & one can get a good feed very cheaply. It also has the usual large square & a fine park, where the band used to play on Sunday afternoons. It was very nice indeed.
