made quite a mess of our camp & killed & wounded quite a number in the vicinity May 11 we went back over a mile to a safer spot, on May 13 being short of stretcher bearers both Scotty & I had to go out with the bearers it was my first experience out with the boys so I was not sorry to have the experience. I was posted at the A.D.S. so I did not go very far with them we were on the Laingcourt sector which I must say was very quiet but on the Bullecourt sector it was hot & yet it was only the matter of a few miles difference.
I sat on a bank & watched Fritz shell a ridge it was simple. Blotted out of sight in ten minutes. We went down to one of the gardens & picked some rhubarb & had a good feed. It was very good at this A.D.S. but I do not think we
