patched up with an appliance & marked A Class on April 23 I visited Paris Plage a seaside resort near Etaples where there were several French hospitals full of wounded. The place has a beautiful front to walk along & it was nice to get a blow of sea air again. There was a wreck lying not far out perhaps the work of the U Boats. Still I enjoyed myself in this place in spite of the fact I was hard up for cash. That evening I left the camp at 8.30 to go to Le Harve the base for Australians we got on the station about 9.30 & our train came in at 8.20 next morning all night on the station. Still we got plenty of tea & cakes served to us by Waacs on the station & I put the night in on the seat of a second class carriage.
