I left London for Brighton to say goodbye to my folks & I left Brighton on Jan 4th for London, Jan 5th at 8.15 am I left Victoria for Folkstone. This time I had a lovely friend to see me off. We had a quick run down to Folkstone where we were billeted in a part of the town cut off from the rest right on the front they say on a clear day its possible to see across to France. None of us wanted to see if we could see the beastly place.
We went aboard the boat at 3 pm & left some time later. I slept going back to France & arrived at Boulogne 7 pm & I left straight for my own camp at Wirwignes 8.30 & I was not sorry to get to bed in a stable & sleep the Sleep of the Just. Leave to England is a 14 days wonder, its
