A Theodolite for general use and rapid Bush Surveying -
Levelling [etc etc?] with the Horizontal [?] as large and the needle as long as may be without [?] rendering the instrument too heavy or cumbersome -
A first class article of its kind - [word crossed out] simple in its construction, Well and finely divided on silver, easy adjustment, good Telescope, not to invert objects with means of correcting parallax, [etc?]
Its parts must be so constructed & arranged as to allow a full clear and unobstructed view down on to the Needle at one of the Cardinal points without any interruption whatever - of either standards, Axis or the Telescope itself -
A really good & superior needle is of the very utmost importance - no long as possible
